- 3 large eggs
- 150 ml vegetable oil (e.g., sunflower or canola)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 250 g granulated sugar
- 250 g all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- Powdered sugar, for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9-inch round cake pan with parchment paper.
- Place the whole orange, eggs, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract into a blender and blend until smooth.
- In a large bowl, whisk together granulated sugar, all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Pour the orange mixture into the dry ingredients and gently fold until just combined.
- Transfer the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
- Bake the cake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
