Description
Moist, fluffy, and delightfully sweet, Sprite Pound Cake is an easy-to-make dessert that brings a burst of citrus flavor to your table.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 2 cups sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup Sprite or lemon-lime soda
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C). Grease and flour a bundt pan to prevent the cake from sticking when baked.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with the Sprite, mixing gently until just combined.
- Pour the prepared batter into the greased bundt pan. Bake for 60-70 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Serve slices with a dusting of powdered sugar, whipped cream, or fresh berries. Storing in an airtight container keeps the cake fresh for up to 3 days.
