Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups cottage cheese (small or large curd)
  • 1 medium cucumber, finely diced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh dill, finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Start by dicing the cucumber into very small pieces. If the cucumber is particularly watery, place the diced pieces in a clean kitchen towel or paper towels and squeeze out the excess moisture. This ensures your dip stays creamy rather than becoming watery.
  2. In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine the cottage cheese, freshly chopped dill, minced garlic, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Stir well until all the herbs and seasonings are evenly distributed throughout the cheese.
  3. Gently fold the diced cucumber into the cottage cheese mixture. For the best flavor development, cover the bowl and let it chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving. This allows the garlic and dill to infuse into the cheese.
