Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup granulated white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup high-quality caramel sauce
  • 1/2 cup toffee bits (such as Heath bits)
  • 45 Granny Smith apples, sliced for serving
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional, to prevent apple browning)

Instructions

  1. In a medium mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Use a hand mixer or a sturdy whisk to beat the mixture until it is completely smooth and the sugars have begun to dissolve into the cheese.
  2. Pour in the vanilla extract and continue to mix for another 30 seconds. This adds a depth of flavor that complements both the cream cheese and the caramel topping.
  3. Transfer the cream cheese mixture onto a shallow serving plate or a small pie dish. Use a spatula to spread it into an even layer, leaving a small border around the edges for a clean look.
  4. Drizzle the caramel sauce generously over the top of the cream cheese layer. If your caramel sauce is very thick, you can microwave it for 10 seconds to make it easier to pour and spread evenly.
  5. Sprinkle the toffee bits evenly over the caramel layer. The bits will stick to the caramel, providing a wonderful textural contrast to the smooth dip underneath.
  6. Slice your apples into wedges. If you are not serving immediately, toss the slices in a bowl with a little lemon juice to keep them bright and prevent browning. Arrange them around the dip and serve.
