Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup high-quality apple cider (chilled)
  • 2 ounces fresh lime juice
  • 1 ounce fresh orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon agave nectar or maple syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (for the rim)
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar (for the rim)
  • Ice cubes
  • Apple slices and cinnamon sticks for garnish
  • Splash of sparkling water or ginger ale (optional)

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Prepare the Rim: On a small plate, mix together the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Take a lime wedge and run it around the rim of two glasses to moisten them. Dip the rims into the cinnamon-sugar mixture until they are evenly coated.
  2. Step 2: Combine the Ingredients: Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice. Pour in the apple cider, fresh lime juice, orange juice, and your choice of sweetener (agave or maple syrup). If you don’t have a shaker, a large mason jar with a lid works just as well.
  3. Step 3: Shake and Strain: Secure the lid on the shaker and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds. This ensures the drink is ice-cold and well-aerated. Strain the mixture into your prepared glasses filled with fresh ice.
  4. Step 4: Add Finishing Touches: If you prefer a lighter drink, top each glass with a splash of sparkling water or ginger ale. Stir gently to combine without losing the carbonation.
  5. Step 5: Garnish and Serve: Place a thin slice of apple on the rim or float it on top. Add a cinnamon stick to each glass for an extra aroma of fall spices. Serve immediately while cold.
