- 1 pound ground sausage
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
- 4 cups chicken or vegetable broth
- 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
- 8 ounces lasagna noodles, broken into pieces
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil for garnish
Instructions
- Cook the ground sausage until browned; drain excess fat. Add onions and garlic; sauté until translucent.
- Transfer the mixture to a slow cooker. Stir in crushed tomatoes, broth, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
- Stir in lasagna noodles about 30 minutes before serving. Once noodles are cooked, add ricotta and half the mozzarella; mix until combined.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil and remaining mozzarella on top.
