Description

A delightful dessert that brings tropical sunshine to your table with light, airy texture and vibrant flavor.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup passion fruit puree
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3 large egg whites
  • 1 tablespoon gelatin
  • 1/4 cup water
  • Whipped cream for serving
  • Fresh passion fruit or mint for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, sprinkle gelatin over water and let it bloom for about 5 minutes.
  2. In a saucepan, combine passion fruit puree and sugar over low heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
  3. Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the bloomed gelatin until fully dissolved.
  4. In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form.
  5. In another bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form.
  6. Gently fold the passion fruit mixture into the whipped cream and then fold in the egg whites until just combined.
  7. Spoon the mousse into cups and refrigerate for at least 120 minutes to set.
  8. Serve chilled, topped with whipped cream and garnished with fresh passion fruit or mint.

Notes

These mousse cups can be made in advance and stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
