- 8 oz dark chocolate, chopped
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup orange juice
- 1 tbsp orange zest
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Cocoa powder or powdered sugar for coating
Instructions
- Start by chopping the dark chocolate and placing it into a mixing bowl.
- In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it starts to simmer.
- Pour the hot cream over the chopped chocolate and let it sit for a few minutes.
- Stir the mixture until the chocolate melts completely and becomes smooth, then add orange juice, orange zest, and vanilla extract.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate the mixture for about 2 hours.
- Once the mixture has set, scoop out portions and roll them into balls.
- Roll the truffles in cocoa powder or powdered sugar to coat.
- Place the finished truffles on a baking sheet and refrigerate until ready to serve.
