A delightful bowl featuring tender beef meatballs in fluffy pita, topped with refreshing vegetables and creamy tzatziki sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup chopped parsley
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 pita breads
- 1 cup chopped cucumbers
- 1 cup chopped tomatoes
- 1/2 cup sliced red onion
- 1/2 cup tzatziki sauce
Instructions
- Mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, parsley, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Shape the mixture into meatballs. This should yield about 16 meatballs, depending on the size you choose.
- Bake the meatballs at 400°F (200°C) for 20 minutes or until cooked through and browned.
- Warm the pita breads in the oven or on a skillet. Stuff each pita with cooked meatballs, cucumbers, tomatoes, and red onions. Drizzle with tzatziki sauce and serve immediately.
Notes
You can customize the meatballs with ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option. Make tzatziki sauce ahead of time to let the flavors meld.
