A comforting twist on classic meatloaf, this Meatloaf Casserole combines savory ground beef, rich cheese, and tangy tomato sauce in a hearty, easy-to-make dish.

- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup shredded cheese
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease the casserole dish.
- Combine the ground beef, chopped onion, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce in a large bowl.
- Spread half of the meat mixture evenly in the greased casserole dish.
- Layer half of the shredded cheese on top of the meat mixture and pour half of the tomato sauce over it.
- Repeat by adding the remaining meat mixture, followed by the rest of the tomato sauce, and top with the remaining cheese.
- Cover the dish with foil and bake for 45 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes.
- Allow the casserole to cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
For a spicier kick, consider adding diced jalapeños or hot sauce to the meat mixture.
