Description

A delightful Italian dish combining tender chicken, rich Marsala wine, and creamy orzo, perfect for family dinners or entertaining guests.


Ingredients

  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 1 cup Marsala wine
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper and add to the skillet. Cook until browned on both sides and cooked through, about 6-7 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, add chopped onion and garlic. Sauté until fragrant and translucent.
  3. Pour in the Marsala wine and scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Let it reduce slightly for about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Stir in the orzo and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
  5. Once the orzo is cooked, stir in the heavy cream and return the chicken to the skillet. Allow everything to simmer together for a few minutes. Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley.

Notes

Serve immediately with a fresh green salad or steamed vegetables. Pair with a light white wine and consider adding garlic bread for special occasions.
