Description

A delectable dish that beautifully marries spicy, sweet, and umami flavors characteristic of Korean cuisine.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs chicken thighs or breasts
  • 3 tablespoons gochujang (Korean red chili paste)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Green onions for garnish
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix gochujang, soy sauce, honey, garlic, ginger, sesame oil, salt, and pepper to create the marinade.
  2. Coat the chicken in the marinade and let it sit for at least 30 minutes, or overnight for more flavor.
  3. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) or heat a grill pan over medium-high heat. Cook the chicken for 25-30 minutes in the oven or until fully cooked through, or grill for about 6-7 minutes per side.
  4. Once cooked, let the chicken rest for a few minutes, then slice. Serve garnished with green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

For depth of flavor, marinate overnight. Adjust gochujang for spice preference. Serve extra sauce on the side for added flavor.
