Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lbs chicken breast, cut into bite-sized cubes
  • 4 cups fresh broccoli florets
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Sesame seeds and sliced green onions for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and sesame oil. Ensure the honey is fully incorporated into the liquids so the sauce is smooth. Set this aside for later use.
  2. Season the cubed chicken breast lightly with salt and pepper. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the chicken to the pan in a single layer and cook for about 5-6 minutes, tossing occasionally, until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through.
  3. Add the fresh broccoli florets directly into the skillet with the chicken. Pour the prepared honey garlic sauce over the top of the ingredients. Stir everything well to ensure the chicken and broccoli are thoroughly coated in the glaze.
  4. Reduce the heat to medium. Cover the skillet with a lid and let it simmer for 3-4 minutes. This allows the broccoli to steam until it reaches a tender-crisp texture and the sauce to bubble and thicken into a sticky glaze. Remove the lid and give it one final toss.
  5. Remove the pan from the heat. If desired, sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds and fresh green onions for added crunch and flavor. Serve immediately while hot.
