Description
A fresh twist on the classic barbecue dish, these juicy lamb patties are infused with herbs and spices, perfectly complemented by refreshing tzatziki sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground lamb
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 burger buns
- 1/2 cucumber, sliced
- 1/2 cup tzatziki sauce
- Fresh mint leaves for garnish
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine ground lamb, breadcrumbs, egg, minced garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Form the mixture into four equal-sized patties, ensuring they are nice and compact to hold their shape while cooking.
- Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they are browned and cooked through to your desired level of doneness.
- Meanwhile, toast the burger buns on the grill or skillet just until golden and slightly crispy, which adds a nice texture to the burgers.
- Assemble the burgers by placing a patty on each bun. Add slices of cucumber and generously top with tzatziki sauce.
- Finish the burgers by garnishing with fresh mint leaves for an aromatic touch.
- Serve and enjoy your homemade Greek Lamb Burgers with your favorite sides!
Notes
Leftover cooked lamb patties can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. For longer storage, freeze the patties (cooked or uncooked) for up to 3 months. Reheat by grilling or pan-frying until heated through.
