Description

Greek Chicken Gyros are a delightful Mediterranean dish featuring juicy marinated chicken, fresh vegetables, and creamy tzatziki sauce wrapped in warm pita bread.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken breast, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 pita breads
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1/2 cup cucumbers, sliced
  • 1/2 cup red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup tzatziki sauce

Instructions

  1. Mix together olive oil, minced garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper. Add the sliced chicken breast and ensure it is coated in the marinade. Cover and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated chicken and cook for about 6-8 minutes, or until fully cooked.
  3. Warm the pita breads in a dry skillet or oven for a couple of minutes until soft and pliable.
  4. Assemble the gyros by placing sliced chicken in the center of each warm pita. Top with diced tomatoes, shredded lettuce, sliced cucumbers, red onion, and tzatziki sauce. Roll up and serve immediately.

Notes
