Instructions

  1. Combine the flour, salt, sugar, and yeast in a large bowl.
  2. Add the warm water and olive oil to the dry ingredients and stir until a rough dough forms.
  3. Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes until it is smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise for 1-2 hours until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat your Dutch oven to 450°F (230°C).
  6. Shape the risen dough into a round loaf and place it on parchment paper.
  7. Transfer the loaf into the hot Dutch oven, cover, and bake for 30 minutes; then remove the lid and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Let the bread cool on a wire rack before slicing.
