Instructions

- Fold in the chocolate chips, nuts (if using), vanilla extract, and salt.
- Drop spoonfuls of the mixture onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven, then turn off the heat.
- Leave the cookies in the oven for several hours or overnight to dry out.
