Description

Delightful and whimsical meringue cookies baked in residual heat for a crispy exterior and chewy inside.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form.
  3. Gradually add the sugar while continuing to beat.
  4. Fold in the chocolate chips, nuts (if using), vanilla extract, and salt.
  5. Drop spoonfuls of the mixture onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  6. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven, then turn off the heat.
  7. Leave the cookies in the oven for several hours or overnight to dry out.
