  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup brewed espresso, cooled
  • 1/4 cup coffee liqueur (optional)
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking pan.
  2. Melt the butter and mix in both sugars until creamy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each.
  4. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt in another bowl.
  6. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  7. Stir in the cooled espresso and coffee liqueur until smooth.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and sprinkle chocolate chips on top.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  10. Cool in the pan before cutting into squares.
