1 box (18.4 oz) of your favorite fudge brownie mix (plus required water, oil, and eggs)
12 large marshmallows
1 cup white chocolate chips or vanilla candy melts
1 teaspoon coconut oil (optional, for thinning the chocolate)
Small tube of black decorating icing or melted dark chocolate
Non-stick cooking spray
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat and Prepare: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8 or 9×9-inch baking pan with non-stick cooking spray. You can also line the pan with parchment paper for easier removal later.
Step 2: Mix and Bake Brownies: In a large bowl, prepare the brownie mix according to the package instructions. Stir until just combined to keep them fudgy. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with just a few moist crumbs.
Step 3: Cool Completely: Remove the brownies from the oven and let them cool completely in the pan. This is a very important step! If the brownies are warm, the marshmallows and chocolate will melt and slide right off. Once cool, cut them into 12 even squares.
Step 4: Prepare the Ghost Toppers: Place a large marshmallow on top of each brownie square. If they won’t stay put, you can use a tiny dot of frosting to “glue” them down to the center of the brownie.
Step 5: Melt the White Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the white chocolate chips or candy melts in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth. If the chocolate is too thick, stir in a teaspoon of coconut oil to make it pourable.
Step 6: Create the Ghost Drapes: Spoon the melted white chocolate over the top of each marshmallow, allowing it to drip down the sides to look like a ghostly sheet. Work quickly before the chocolate sets.
Step 7: Add the Faces: Once the white chocolate has hardened slightly, use the black decorating icing to pipe two small eyes and a mouth onto each marshmallow. Your ghosts are now ready to haunt your plate!
