Description

A delightful holiday pastry that combines flaky puff pastry with a creamy filling, shaped like a Christmas tree.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Green and red sprinkles (optional, for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Spread a light layer of flour on your work surface and roll out the puff pastry to ensure it’s even and easy to work with.
  2. Combine the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract in a mixing bowl. Mix until you achieve a smooth and creamy texture.
  3. Cut the rolled-out pastry into the shape of a Christmas tree, leaving enough at the bottom for the trunk.
  4. Spread the cream cheese mixture across the pastry, avoiding the edges so it doesn’t spill out while baking.
  5. Fold over the edges of your tree shape to resemble branches.
  6. Brush the entire pastry with the beaten egg for a golden finish when baked.
  7. Place the shaped Danish on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Let the Danish cool for a few minutes on a wire rack.
  9. Sprinkle with green and red sprinkles if desired.
  10. Serve the Danish warm or at room temperature.
