Ingredients
- Angel food cake (prepared)
- Sugar
- Cinnamon
- Vegetable oil (for frying)
- Chocolate or caramel sauce (for dipping, optional)
Instructions
- Cut the angel food cake into small bite-sized pieces, about 1-inch squares.
- Combine the sugar and cinnamon in a mixing bowl, adjusting the ratio to suit your taste.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 360°F (180°C). Carefully add the cake pieces in batches and fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.
- Remove the fried pieces and drain on paper towels. Roll them in the cinnamon sugar mixture while still warm.
Notes
Best served warm. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two days. Reheat in the oven to refresh crispiness.
