Description

A delightful twist on traditional cake that combines a rich, moist texture with uniquely flavored peanut frosting.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup cola
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter (for frosting)
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the flour and sugar. Mix until thoroughly blended.
  3. In a saucepan, combine the cola, vegetable oil, and butter. Bring to a boil and stir into the flour mixture. Add buttermilk, eggs, vanilla, baking soda, and salt. Mix until well combined.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  5. While the cake is baking, prepare the peanut frosting by beating peanut butter and butter until smooth. Gradually add powdered sugar and milk until creamy. Spread over the cooled cake.

Notes

For best results, ensure all ingredients are at room temperature. Use a high-quality cola for better flavor.
