Description

A moist, richly flavored bread made with apple butter, perfect for sharing or enjoying with tea or coffee.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup apple butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped apples (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. Cream together the softened butter, sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the apple butter.
  4. Combine the flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt in another bowl.
  5. Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. If using, fold in the chopped apples.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  7. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
