Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
  • 1.5 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional: 1/4 cup chopped pecans or dried cranberries for extra fall flair

Instructions

  1. Wash the Brussels sprouts thoroughly and pat them dry with a paper towel. Trim off the woody ends and slice each sprout in half vertically. In a large mixing bowl, toss the sprouts with olive oil, salt, pepper, and garlic powder until they are evenly coated.
  2. Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (190°C) for about 3 minutes. Once ready, place the seasoned Brussels sprouts into the air fryer basket in a single layer. Do not overcrowd the basket, as this will prevent them from getting crispy.
  3. Cook the sprouts at 380°F for 10 minutes. Halfway through the cooking time, take the basket out and give it a good shake to ensure even browning on all sides.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together the maple syrup and balsamic vinegar. Drizzle this mixture over the sprouts in the basket and toss gently with a spoon. If you are using pecans or cranberries, add them now.
  5. Return the basket to the air fryer and cook for an additional 3 to 5 minutes. Watch closely during this stage, as the sugar in the maple syrup can burn quickly. Remove once the sprouts are tender and the edges are dark and crispy.
