Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated white sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. In a medium mixing bowl, beat together the softened butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy. This should take about 2 minutes with a hand mixer or a whisk.
  2. Add the egg and the vanilla extract to the butter mixture. Beat again until the ingredients are fully combined and the texture is smooth.
  3. Gradually stir in the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix until a soft dough forms. Be careful not to overmix the dough, as this can make the cookies tough.
  4. Using a spatula or a large spoon, gently fold in the chocolate chips until they are evenly distributed throughout the cookie dough.
  5. Line the bottom of your air fryer basket with a piece of parchment paper. Make sure the paper is cut slightly smaller than the basket to allow air to circulate around the edges.
  6. Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough and place them in the basket, leaving about 2 inches of space between each cookie. Air fry at 320°F (160°C) for 7 to 9 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown but the centers still look slightly soft.
  7. Carefully remove the basket and let the cookies sit inside for 2 minutes. Then, transfer them to a wire rack to finish cooling and firming up before serving.
