Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (16 oz) refrigerated flaky layers biscuits (8 count)
  • 1 large Granny Smith apple, peeled and finely diced
  • 8 soft caramel candies (unwrapped)
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • Optional: Caramel sauce for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Start by peeling your Granny Smith apple. Cut it into very small, fine pieces. Small pieces are important so they cook through quickly and fit easily inside the biscuit dough. Set the diced apples aside in a small bowl.
  2. Open the can of biscuits and separate them. Use your hands or a rolling pin to flatten each biscuit into a circle about 4 inches wide. Make sure the dough is even so it doesn’t tear during the filling process.
  3. Place about a tablespoon of the diced apples in the center of each flattened biscuit. Press one soft caramel candy into the center of the apple pile. Carefully pull the edges of the dough over the filling and pinch the seams tightly to seal it into a ball.
  4. Lightly grease your air fryer basket or use a parchment liner. Place the dough balls in the basket, seam-side down. Ensure they are not touching so the air can circulate. Cook at 350°F (175°C) for 7 to 8 minutes, or until they are golden brown and cooked through.
  5. While the bombs are cooking, mix the sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl. Once the bombs are done, remove them from the air fryer. Immediately brush each one with melted butter and roll it in the cinnamon sugar mixture until fully coated.
