Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (approx. 16 oz) refrigerated flaky biscuits or crescent dough
  • 1 cup apple pie filling (finely chopped)
  • 8 soft caramel candies (unwrapped)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • Optional: Caramel sauce for drizzling

Instructions

  1. In a small shallow bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon until well combined. In a separate small bowl, melt the butter in the microwave. Set both aside for later use.
  2. Open the refrigerated biscuit dough and separate the biscuits. If using crescent dough, gather it into balls. Use your hands or a rolling pin to flatten each piece of dough into a circle about 4 inches in diameter.
  3. Place a small spoonful of chopped apple pie filling into the center of each dough circle. Place one whole soft caramel candy right on top of the apple filling. Do not overfill, or the bombs might leak during cooking.
  4. Carefully pull the edges of the dough up and over the filling. Pinch the seams tightly to seal the apple and caramel inside. Roll the dough gently between your palms to form a smooth, round ball.
  5. Dip each dough ball into the melted butter, ensuring it is fully coated. Immediately roll the ball in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until it is evenly covered.
  6. Place the prepared bombs into the air fryer basket in a single layer, leaving at least an inch of space between each one. Cook at 350°F (175°C) for 7 to 9 minutes, or until they are golden brown and puffed up.
  7. Remove the bombs from the air fryer and let them cool for 2 to 3 minutes. The caramel inside will be very hot! Drizzle with extra caramel sauce if desired before serving.
