1 medium head of cauliflower, cut into bite-sized florets
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup water
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 cup buffalo hot sauce
1 tablespoon melted butter (or coconut oil)
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Cauliflower Wash the cauliflower head thoroughly and pat it dry with a towel. Cut the cauliflower into small, bite-sized florets, ensuring they are relatively uniform in size for even cooking.
Step 2: Create the Batter In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and water. The consistency should be thick enough to coat the cauliflower without dripping off completely.
Step 3: Coat the Florets Add the cauliflower florets to the bowl of batter. Toss gently using a spatula or your hands until every piece is well-coated in the seasoned flour mixture.
Step 4: First Air Fry Cycle Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Place the coated florets in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook for 12 to 15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure they crisp up on all sides.
Step 5: Sauce and Final Crisp While the cauliflower cooks, whisk together the buffalo hot sauce and melted butter in a small bowl. Once the 15 minutes are up, remove the cauliflower, toss them in the sauce mixture, and return them to the air fryer for an additional 5 minutes until bubbly and slightly charred.
