Description

Delightful bite-sized churros with a crispy exterior and soft interior, made healthier in an air fryer.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup sugar (for coating)
  • Oil spray

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine water, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring until the butter is completely melted.
  2. Stir in the flour until the mixture forms a ball of dough.
  3. Remove the saucepan from heat and let the dough cool for a few minutes. Then, beat in eggs one at a time, mixing until the dough becomes smooth and shiny.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Use a piping bag to pipe small bites of dough onto parchment paper. Lightly spray each bite with oil spray. Air fry for about 10-12 minutes or until they turn golden brown.
  5. Mix the remaining sugar and cinnamon in a separate bowl, then toss the warm churro bites in this mixture before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with dipping sauces like chocolate or caramel. Can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
