Description
This creamy white garlic pizza sauce is a delicious alternative to traditional tomato-based sauces and offers a rich flavor that complements any pizza.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4–5 cloves garlic, minced or roasted
- 2 tbsp butter or olive oil
- ¾ cup heavy cream, milk, or plant-based milk
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan or Pecorino cheese (optional)
- ½ tsp salt, or to taste
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- Pinch of nutmeg (optional)
- Fresh or dried herbs (thyme, basil, oregano – optional)
Instructions
- Start by preparing your garlic. You can either mince it fresh or roast the cloves for a sweeter flavor.
- In a medium saucepan over medium-low heat, melt the butter or heat the olive oil. Once it’s melted, add in your minced garlic and cook for about 1–2 minutes until it’s aromatic.
- Slowly pour in the heavy cream, whisking continuously. Gradually add cheese now if you’d like.
- Season with salt, pepper, nutmeg, and any herbs you like. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary. Blend for a smoother consistency if desired.
Notes
