Vegan Heavy Cream Substitute


Description

A creamy and rich vegan heavy cream substitute perfect for a variety of dishes without the dairy.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup cashews
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Soak cashews in water for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  2. Drain and rinse the soaked cashews.
  3. In a blender, combine the soaked cashews, 1 cup of fresh water, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt.
  4. Blend the mixture until smooth and creamy.
  5. If desired, add vanilla extract and blend again for added flavor.
  6. Use your vegan heavy cream substitute as needed in recipes.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4-5 days. Stir before using as it may separate during storage.
