Description

Delicious baked doughnuts infused with warm chai spices and vanilla, perfect for breakfast or a snack.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/4 tsp ground cardamom
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a doughnut pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and spices.
  3. In another bowl, combine the buttermilk, vegetable oil, vanilla extract, and egg, mixing until smooth. Pour into dry ingredients and stir gently.
  4. Fill each doughnut cavity about 2/3 full with batter. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Allow to cool before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days, or refrigerate for up to a week. For longer storage, freeze for up to 3 months.
