Description

A vibrant condiment with the unique tartness of tomatillos and a hint of spice from jalapeños, perfect for tortilla chips and tacos.


Ingredients

  • 6 tomatillos
  • 2 jalapeños
  • 1 onion
  • 1 cup cilantro (fresh)
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Remove the husk from the tomatillos and rinse them under cold water.
  2. In a saucepan, bring water to a boil. Add the tomatillos and jalapeños, cooking for about 10 minutes until softened.
  3. Drain and transfer to a blender. Add chopped onion, cilantro, lime juice, and salt.
  4. Blend until smooth, adjusting seasoning as necessary.

Notes

For a milder sauce, remove the seeds from the jalapeños. Use fresh ingredients for best flavor.
