- 2 lbs ground beef or ground turkey
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cans (14.5 oz each) diced tomatoes
- 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
- 2 cups beef broth
- 2 cans (15 oz each) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 can (15 oz) pinto beans, drained and rinsed
- Spices: chili powder, cumin, paprika, cayenne pepper (optional)
Instructions
- Gather all ingredients and chop vegetables.
- Brown the ground meat in a large pot over medium heat for 5–7 minutes.
- Add the diced onion and green bell pepper; sauté until softened.
- Stir in the minced garlic for another minute.
- Combine all remaining ingredients in the pot and stir well.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to low and cover partially.
- Taste and adjust seasonings as needed before serving hot with your favorite toppings.
Notes
If you like your chili with a lot of kick, add more cayenne pepper or diced jalapeños.
