Ingredients

- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and grease a large loaf pan.
- Mix together the ground beef, eggs, onion, bread crumbs, milk, salt, pepper, mustard, garlic, and half of the ketchup in a large bowl.
- Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in the prepared pan. In a saucepan, combine the remaining ketchup and brown sugar over medium heat until simmering. Pour half of this sauce over the meatloaf and bake for about 30 minutes. After this, add the remaining sauce and continue baking for an additional 45 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
- Let the meatloaf rest for about 10 minutes before slicing.
Notes
Serve with creamy mashed potatoes or steamed vegetables for a comforting meal.
