- 1 jar grape leaves
- 1 cup rice
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/2 cup fresh mint, chopped
- 1 lemon, juiced
- 2 cups water or broth
Instructions
- Rinse the grape leaves in cold water and set aside.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onion and sauté until translucent (3-5 minutes).
- Stir in the rice, salt, pepper, and paprika, cooking for 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat, mix in the parsley, mint, and lemon juice.
- Place 1 tablespoon of the rice mixture on a grape leaf, fold sides over the filling, and roll tightly. Repeat with remaining leaves and filling.
- Arrange the stuffed leaves in a pot, layering with any remaining grape leaves.
- Pour water or broth over the stuffed leaves, ensuring they are just covered. Cover the pot and simmer on low heat for 45 minutes.
- Serve warm or at room temperature.
