Description
A delightful one-pot dish combining comforting gnocchi with savory Italian sausage and fresh spinach, topped with a creamy garlic Parmesan sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 package gnocchi
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 pound Italian sausage
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups fresh spinach, roughly chopped
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Red pepper flakes, to taste
Instructions
- Cook gnocchi according to package instructions, typically boiling until they float, about 2-3 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add Italian sausage, breaking it up and cooking for 5-7 minutes until browned.
- Add minced garlic to the skillet and cook for 1 minute until fragrant, then stir in chopped spinach and cook until wilted, about 2 minutes.
- Pour in heavy cream, bring to a simmer, and add cooked gnocchi and grated Parmesan. Stir to combine and season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Serve warm, garnished with more Parmesan if desired.
Notes
For a lighter dish, substitute Italian sausage with turkey or chicken sausage. You can also add other vegetables like mushrooms or bell peppers.
