Description

Delightful sourdough banana bread combining ripe bananas and sourdough starter for a moist loaf perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 2 ripe bananas
  • 1 cup sourdough starter (fed or unfed)
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • Optional: walnuts or chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan.
  2. Mash the ripe bananas in a large bowl and stir in the sourdough starter, sugar, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  3. In another bowl, mix the flour, salt, and baking soda.
  4. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet, mixing until just combined. Optionally fold in walnuts or chocolate chips.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
