Description
Ultimate comfort food that brings the joy of backyard barbecues right into your kitchen with crispy, caramelized edges and creamy sweet-pickle sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 burger buns
- 4 slices of cheese (optional)
- 1 cup sweet pickle relish
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
- Lettuce, tomato, and onion for toppings (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat.
- Form the ground beef into balls (about 2-3 ounces each) and season generously with salt and pepper.
- Place the balls on the hot surface and smash down firmly with a spatula to form thin patties. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until browned on one side, then flip and add cheese if desired.
- Toast the burger buns on the griddle until golden brown. In a small bowl, mix together the sweet pickle relish, mayonnaise, and mustard to create the sauce. Assemble the burgers by spreading the sauce on the bottom bun, adding the cooked patty, and topping with lettuce, tomato, and onion as desired.
Notes
Choose ground beef with a higher fat content (like 80/20) for juiciness. Don’t overwork the beef while forming the balls; handle it gently for tender burgers.
