Description
A delightful dish combining the sweetness of honey with savory garlic and soy sauce, perfect for busy nights.
Ingredients
Scale
- 0.5 cup honey
- 0.5 cup soy sauce
- 0.25 cup ketchup
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 0.25 cup low-sodium chicken broth
- 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken thighs
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
- 2 tablespoons green onions, chopped (optional)
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional)
Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, ketchup, minced garlic, and chicken broth until smooth.
- Place the chicken thighs into the slow cooker in an even layer.
- Pour the prepared sauce over the chicken, ensuring all pieces are coated. Cover and cook on low for 5 to 6 hours or on high for 3 to 4 hours, until fork-tender.
- Remove chicken and mix cornstarch with water, stir into the sauce, and turn slow cooker to high for 10–15 minutes until thickened. Return chicken and spoon thickened sauce over it. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds if using.
Notes
For extra flavor, add rice vinegar or red pepper flakes to the sauce. Chicken breasts can replace thighs; adjust cooking time as necessary.
