Description

Fluffy and soft pancakes enriched with buttermilk, perfect for breakfast or brunch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • Additional butter for cooking

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until there are no clumps.
  2. In another bowl, combine the buttermilk, egg, and melted butter until nicely blended.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat and add a little butter. Pour 1/4 cup of batter for each pancake. Cook until bubbles form, then flip and cook until golden brown.
  4. Serve warm with toppings like syrup, jam, or fresh fruit.

Notes

Use buttermilk for a richer flavor. Don’t overmix the batter; a few lumps are okay.
