Ingredients

  • 8 oz semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce
  • Sea salt for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the butter and chopped chocolate until smooth. Remove from heat and stir in granulated and brown sugars.
  3. Allow the mixture to cool slightly, then whisk in eggs one at a time and add vanilla extract.
  4. Sift together flour, cocoa powder, and salt; gradually add to the chocolate mixture until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips.
  5. Scoop a tablespoon of dough onto prepared baking sheet, flatten slightly, and add a dollop of caramel sauce. Top with a little more dough if needed.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are set but centers remain soft. Sprinkle sea salt on top while warm.
  7. Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
