- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 8 oz semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce
- Sea salt for sprinkling
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the butter and chopped chocolate until smooth. Remove from heat and stir in granulated and brown sugars.
- Allow the mixture to cool slightly, then whisk in eggs one at a time and add vanilla extract.
- Sift together flour, cocoa powder, and salt; gradually add to the chocolate mixture until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips.
- Scoop a tablespoon of dough onto prepared baking sheet, flatten slightly, and add a dollop of caramel sauce. Top with a little more dough if needed.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are set but centers remain soft. Sprinkle sea salt on top while warm.
- Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
