- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup warm water
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Dissolve the sugar and yeast in warm water and let it sit for about 10 minutes until frothy.
- Combine the all-purpose flour and salt in a large bowl.
- Add the frothy yeast mixture and olive oil to the flour mixture and stir until it forms a dough.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the kneaded dough into a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Punch down the risen dough, shape it into a loaf, and transfer to a greased loaf pan. Let it rise for an additional 30 minutes.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and hollow-sounding when tapped. Allow it to cool before slicing.

Store in a paper bag or bread box at room temperature for 2-3 days or slice and freeze for up to 3 months.
