Description

A delightful twist on classic cookies, these Red Velvet Kiss Cookies combine the rich flavor of red velvet cake with the sweetness of Hershey’s Kisses.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Hershey’s Kisses for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the egg, red food coloring, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough and place them on the baking sheets.
  7. Bake for 8-10 minutes, until the edges are set but centers are soft.
  8. Press a Hershey’s Kiss into the center of each cookie immediately after baking.
  9. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For a vibrant red hue, use gel food coloring. Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
