Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, beat together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until creamy and fluffy.
- Add the egg, red food coloring, and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and stir until well blended.
- Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between them.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are set and centers are slightly soft. Cool on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
For firmer cookies, slightly increase baking time. Store in an airtight container for up to one week or freeze for up to three months.
