Delightful, decadent red velvet cookies bursting with chocolate chips, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until creamy and fluffy.
  4. Add the egg, red food coloring, and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and stir until well blended.
  5. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between them.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are set and centers are slightly soft. Cool on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For firmer cookies, slightly increase baking time. Store in an airtight container for up to one week or freeze for up to three months.
