- 1 1/2 cups warm water
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
Instructions
- Mix warm water, yeast, and a teaspoon of sugar. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
- Combine flour and salt in a large mixing bowl. Stir them together.
- Add the yeast mixture to the flour and stir until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth.
- Let the dough rise in a warm area for 30 minutes, covered with a damp cloth.
- Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C).
- Shape the dough into a baguette and place it on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Score the top with a sharp knife and let it rest for another 10 minutes.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
- Cool the bread before slicing.
Notes
