Ingredients

  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a cake pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine pumpkin puree, eggs, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Mix until smooth.
  3. Melt the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring until smooth, then cool slightly.
  4. Whip the heavy cream to soft peaks and fold in the cooled melted chocolate.
  5. Gradually combine the chocolate mousse into the pumpkin mixture until just combined.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For best flavor, chill the cake in the refrigerator before serving. Serve optionally with dusted cocoa powder or powdered sugar.
