Description
A hearty and flavorful dish that combines tender minced meat with soft diced potatoes, seasoned with aromatic spices.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef (or lamb)
- 3 medium potatoes, peeled and diced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 tomatoes, chopped
- 2 green chilies, slit
- 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp red chili powder
- Salt to taste
- 2 tbsp oil
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them sizzle until fragrant.
- Add chopped onions to the pot and sauté them until they become translucent, about 4-5 minutes.
- Stir in the ginger-garlic paste and slit green chilies, cooking for about a minute.
- Add the ground meat to the pot and cook until it is browned, breaking it apart with a spatula.
- Mix in the chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, and salt. Stir everything well to combine.
- Stir in the diced potatoes and add enough water to just cover them. Bring it to a boil, then reduce the heat and cover the pot. Let it simmer until the potatoes are tender, about 15-20 minutes.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving. Enjoy your Aloo Keema with rice or naan!
