Description

A simple and satisfying breakfast treat featuring rich flavors of eggs and milk, enhanced by sweet vanilla and cinnamon, all soaked into hearty slices of bread.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 4 slices of bread (Texas toast, brioche, or your favorite)
  • Butter for cooking
  • Maple syrup for serving

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon until smooth.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add a little butter to coat the pan.
  3. Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, allowing excess to drip off.
  4. Place the coated bread slices in the skillet and cook until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  5. Serve warm with a drizzle of maple syrup and optional toppings like powdered sugar or fresh fruit.

Notes

For a crispier exterior, place the cooked French toast in a preheated oven at 200°F (93°C) for a few minutes.
