- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1 cup corn syrup
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup reserved pecans (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking pan.
- Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat, then stir in the granulated sugar until combined.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk flour, cocoa powder, and salt, then gradually add to the wet mixture.
- Fold in the chopped pecans and spread the brownie batter in the prepared pan.
- Mix corn syrup, brown sugar, and reserved pecans, then pour over the brownie batter.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean, then let cool before cutting.
Notes
Allow to cool completely for neat squares. Serve warm or at room temperature with ice cream or caramel sauce.
